Patty’s Memorial Service

Ok, so the title “Final Post” was a little premature.  Figures, since it took me the whole day to figure out what to say.  I did NOT inherit my mom’s writing talent.

Patty’s memorial service will be held on June 12, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Legacy Church in Tierrasanta:

10881 Tierrasanta Blvd.

San Diego, CA 91924

  1. Your mom helped a lot of people. Thank you for sharing her. I’m losing my mom to ALS. My mom doesn’t talk very much, so I used your mom’s words to know what my mom is going through. I’m so very sorry for your loss. Sending you and your family lots of strength and love.

  2. To Patty’s Daughter..I have followed your Mom for the past few years when I first heard about her from a friend at CABC. She has taken me into the world of ALS.a world I knew nothing about. One thing I learned was Patty’s amazing attitude as things were slowly being taken away. I hope you can take her thoughts and publish them in a book. She was such an inspiration to me. I saw her once at College Ave. after a Memorial service but so many people wanted to talk to her I could only say hi. I was so impressed with your Father. I know what it like to be a 24/7 caregiver. My Husband had alzheimers. Your Father had so much to do to just get her ready to get out and he was always so faithful to do it. He is truly an angel.

I am so very sorry I cannot come to the Memorial and be able to meet each one of you and give you a big hug. I am going on a trip across country with my daughter and son in law in their vacation trailer. They are moving to North Carolina and since they are making a vacation out of this trip they want me to go along. We are leaving June 1 and I have no idea when I will be home.

I wanted you to know that my thoughts and prayers will be especially with you on the 12th and will follow you for sometime because there is a major emptiness she has left in your lives. I do know she would want you to think of her as she walked into heaven eternally healed from this disease and is now enjoying the Saviour she so loved and beautiful heaven without her wheel chair. God Bless your family.

    My Love and Prayers,

    Hope Etchings

  3. I would appreciate it if someone could email me the address of your local ALS chapter so I may make a memorial gift in Patty’s name or their website so I may donate online.
